Contemporary & Period Furniture Designed and Made to Commission |
| What I do When I design furniture I aspire to produce a timeless piece that is tactile with clean lines and smooth surfaces, sometimes using flowing curves and inlay work. I design and make furniture to commission in contemporary and period styles which are influenced by the arts and crafts, art nouveau and art deco periods. There is a large amount of handwork involved as well as attention to detail in producing a fine piece of furniture. I use mainly native and European hardwoods including reclaimed wood and have an interest in using local fallen trees. I also use decorative veneer and have a preference for natural oil finishes. Please have a look at my online collection. I am a member of the Norfolk Furniture Makers Association and exhibit at the Norwich Forum every Spring. In 2003, I won the Arthur Brett Cup for Craftmanship with an occassional table made from wenge and quarter sawn oak. In 2006 I won the Mike Hicks cup for merit for my walnut coffee table.

Commissioning Furniture Once the client is happy with the initial
designs I will create perspective drawings. At this point we can
discuss wood choices and final pricing and if everything is acceptable
then an initial deposit is requested in order to purchase wood in
preparation. You are invited to come and visit the workshop and
see the work in progress.
